He is an authorized specialist in Periodontology. Klinge is Professor em at the Department of Dental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm and also at the Faculty of Odontology, Malmö University. His research and publications (PubMed) has focused on the oral-systemic link, peri-implantitis and computer guided implant surgery. He has been Dean at the faculties of Odontology, Karolinska Institutet and Malmo University. He has been President of EAO, the Swedish Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and of the Scandinavian Society of Periodontology.
